How does the daily joke work?
Each day at your scheduled notification time (default 9:00 AM), you'll receive a notification. Tap the notification or open the app to reveal the daily joke. The same joke is available all day until midnight, when a new joke appears.
How do I change my notification time?
To change when you receive your daily joke notification:
- Open the app
- Tap the Settings icon in the navigation bar
- Adjust the notification time to your preference
- Your changes are saved automatically
I'm not receiving notifications. What should I do?
If you're not getting your daily joke notifications, try these steps:
- Check app permissions: Go to your device settings and ensure Dadly Affirmations has notification permissions enabled
- Check Do Not Disturb: Make sure your device isn't in Do Not Disturb mode during your scheduled notification time
- Restart the app: Close and reopen the app to refresh the notification schedule
- Check your notification time: Verify the time is set correctly in Settings
How do I add jokes to my favorites?
To save a joke to your favorites, tap the heart icon on the joke display page. The heart will fill in to show it's been added. You can view all your favorite jokes by tapping the Favorites icon in the navigation bar.
Can I share jokes with friends?
Yes! Each joke has a share button that lets you send it via text, email, social media, or any app on your device. Spread the joy of dad jokes!
How many jokes are in the app?
Dadly Affirmations contains over 500 carefully curated dad jokes. The app tracks which jokes you've seen and won't repeat them until you've gone through the entire collection. After seeing all jokes, the rotation resets automatically.
Will I see the same joke twice?
Not until you've seen all 500+ jokes! The app remembers which jokes you've already seen and only shows you new ones. Once you've completed the full rotation, all jokes become available again.
Can I see previous jokes?
Currently, only today's joke and your favorited jokes are saved. We're working on a joke history feature that will let you browse previously seen jokes. Stay tuned!
Why do I see ads in the app?
Dadly Affirmations is free to use, and ads help us keep it that way while continuing to improve the app. Ads appear as small banners at the bottom of certain screens and don't interfere with the joke experience.
The app isn't working properly. What should I do?
Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Force close and reopen: Completely close the app and restart it
- Check for updates: Make sure you have the latest version from the App Store or Google Play
- Restart your device: Sometimes a simple device restart fixes issues
- Reinstall the app: Delete and reinstall the app (note: this will clear your favorites and settings)
Privacy & Data
Dadly Affirmations respects your privacy. All data (your daily joke, favorites, and settings) is stored locally on your device. We don't collect or transmit any personal information to external servers.
